The iconic 4.0-liter six-cylinder revs up to 9000 rpm and produces 493 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque, giving it a 79-hp advantage over the standard 718 Spyder.

Upgrading to the Weissach package swaps the front hood, door mirror caps, upper and lower side air intakes, and Gurney flap on the rear duckbill for lighter carbon-fiber versions.

The Weissach package also adds an embroidered Weissach logo to the seats and top cloth in the interior of the car.

The new Spyder RS share a blend of chassis components between the Cayman GT4 RS and the standard 718 Spyder. Along with Porsche Active Suspension Management, the car has been lowered by 1.2 inches.

Being a true RS car, the new Spyder makes some luxury concessions in the name of weight saving. Standard door handles are replaced with fabric loops, and there's no option for a powered top.

The 20-inch center locking forged alloy wheels can be replaced by an even lighter set of forged magnesium wheels, though Porsche doesn't list the price of that option.

The huge underhung rear wing from the GT4 RS is replaced by an enlarged duckbill spoiler for the Spyder.

The Spyder RS will have a starting price of $162,150, though it is likely that the biggest hurdle potential buyers will face is finding an allocation to actually purchase the car.
