The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is more than just a fresh coat of paint atop the same tired underpinnings. This off-road-ready mid-size pickup truck has been given a number of tweaks both seen and unseen. The result is a truck that's far more modern and capable than before.
The 2023 Colorado has a wheelbase that's 2.9 inches longer than its predecessor's.
Extending the Colorado's wheelbase allowed the automaker to jam larger 33-inch tires under the body, besting the last generation's 31-inchers.
In the future, the ZR2 Bison will embiggen its rubber even more, placing 35-inch off-road tires at each corner.
The Colorado ZR2 now has an additional 1.8 inches of ground clearance.
Total ground clearance grows from 8.9 inches to 10.7.
Front suspension has more room to move now, with travel growing from 8.7 to 9.9 inches.
The rear suspension travel grows from 9.8 to 11.6 inches.
Off-roaders will also love the ZR2's improved approach angle, which is now 38.3 degrees, up from the previous model's 30.0.
