It's a real bummer the 2024 Lexus LM luxury van isn't sold in America. Sure, its boxy shape and minivan connotations don't conjure the same sense of wealth that, say, a Mercedes-Benz S-class sedan or a Bentley Bentayga SUV do, but the second-generation LM looks to provide an equally serene cabin with even more stretch-out space.
While its exterior doesn't broadcast the wealth of its owner, the redesigned Lexus LM is discreet by nature, with an interior that's truly something to behold.
At over 201 inches long and standing nearly six feet, six inches tall, the Lexus LM is a big van. Those prodigious proportions and its 118.1-inch wheelbase are largely responsible for its palatial interior.
Lexus said it wanted to make the new LM even quieter than before, so it prioritized reducing wind and road noise as well as giving it a new suspension that's said to improve ride quality.
For wealthy folks who like to be chauffeured, the Lexus LM with the four-seat configuration provides a unique experience. There are a pair of what appear to be extremely comfortable rear seats, which feature heated armrests and an ottoman with more adjustable range.
With the four-seat configuration, rear passengers face this giant 48-inch screen on the back of a partition. Between the two chairs are a pair of touchscreen remotes that can not only control the big screen, but they can also manipulate the climate system.
The partition that separates the back seat from the front seat on certain LMs also includes privacy glass with adjustable transparency. There also are retractable window shades for the side glass as well as the two sky lights on the roof.
Here's the inside of a more modestly equipped Lexus LM. Since not all models are fitted with the VIP-like four-seat configuration, this cutaway shows the inside of a six-passenger version.
By the look of things, the LM's driver doesn't have it too bad. There appear to be lots of soft-touch surfaces throughout the cockpit, and the wood trim adds a nice natural element.
Just say you live outside the U.S. and can afford such an expensive van, the LM's luxe cabin looks like it could be a makeshift night club judging by its ambient lighting themes.
We don't know how much the 2024 Lexus LM costs—although the fanciest versions are sure to fetch six figures—but we do know Americans can only dream about owning one. These reclining lounge seats look like the perfect spot to do just that.
