The 2024 BMW XM Label Red arrives on the scene with even more power and performance potential than the regular XM. Both models feature a plug-in-hybrid V-8 powertrain, but the Label Red boasts 738 horsepower compared with its counterpart's 644 ponies.
The XM Label Red is the most powerful street-legal M-badged model BMW has ever built.
Helping the XM Label Red hit 60 mph in an estimated 3.7 seconds is its standard variable, rear-biased all-wheel-drive system.
While it alone has red rings around its kidney grille, the Label Red shares a 19.2-kWh battery with an estimated 30 miles of electric driving range with the regular XM.
With its 7.4-kW onboard charger, BMW estimates the XM's battery can be filled from zero to full in three hours and 15 minutes.
As its name suggests, the Label Red is distinguished by red exterior accents such as the stripe that outlines the SUV's side windows.
The Label Red rolls on these distinctive black-and-red 23-inch wheels mounted on performance-oriented summer tires. For those seeking a little more sidewall, a no-cost 22-inch set are also available.
The XM Label Red has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph, but customers who opt for the M Driver's package can have that lifted to 175 mph.
As with its less-powerful twin, the Label Red boasts a curved glass display with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen with iDrive 8.5 infotainment software.
Taking the red theme a step further, the interior features the color on the air-vent louvers as well as the stitching found on the seats, the dashboard, and other surfaces.
The XM Label Red will likely have a starting price around $186,000 when it goes on sale. Production is expected to start this August at BMW's factory in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
