In Europe, Genesis sells this stylish longroof version of the G70. It's forbidden fruit for us Yanks, so we had our editor in the U.K. drive it to tell us what we're missing.
The G70 Shooting Brake, a station-wagon version of the G70, is sold exclusively in Europe.
Buyers get to choose among four-cylinder engines: normal and high-output versions of a gasoline turbo 2.0-liter four, as well as a 2.2-liter turbodiesel. The twin-turbo V-6 available in our G70 sedan isn't offered.
The G70 Shooting Brake's stylish rear end and heavily contoured liftgate are somewhat reminiscent of the Lexus IS300 SportCross that was briefly sold in the U.S. in the early 2000s.
Adaptive dampers come standard with the plusher Luxury Line and Sport Line trims, and the G70 Shooting Brake gets firmer chassis settings for European tastes.
Forward of the rear seats, the G70 Shooting Brake interior is identical to the sedan's.
Genesis claims luggage room is 16 cubic feet with the rear seats up and 54 cubic feet with them folded.
