Saying goodbye has never been so exciting. The seventh and final part of Dodge's "Last Call" special-edition series concludes with the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. The street-legal dragster takes its name from the 170-proof ethanol E85 that's required to unleash its 1025 horsepower and 945 pound-feet of torque. Between 2500 and 3000 of these cars will be produced in America, but many speeding tickets will surely be written.

It doesn't look like a brand-new car, because it's not meant to. Instead, the Demon scalps a big ol' hood scoop from its 2018 predecessor and adds new wheels and fenders without flares that help save weight.

Dodge ran the Demon 170 on a surface-prepared track, and here are the results: the Demon launched to 60 mph in just 1.66 seconds and ran an 8.91-second quarter-mile at 151 mph. Results on the streets won't be as fierce but will remain quick nonetheless.

For tires, the Demon 170 uses Mickey Thompson ET Street R drag radials. You can't get those on your aunt's Durango. Up front are 245/55R-18s with meatier 315/50R-17 rubber for the rear.

The Demon 170 uses a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, which is the main ingredient for all SRT Hellcats. This one has upgraded internals and a larger supercharger to deliver as much as 900 horsepower and 810 pound-feet of torque on 91-octane gas. Plus, instead of the traditional orange paint found on all SRT Hellcat engine blocks, the Demon version glows yellow.

The Demon 170 comes standard with a single cloth driver's seat, no passenger seat, and no rear seats. There are also only two speakers in the car, but additional seating and speakers are available for extra.

Production of the Demon 170 won't exceed 3300 units. Of those, Dodge expects 2500 to 3000 copies to go to the U.S. market, while Canadians might need to drop the gloves to settle who gets the 300 Demon 170s available in their neck of the woods.

The Demon 170 will be built in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Production is scheduled to start in July and will wrap for good on the last day of the year.
