The 1990 Alfa Romeo 164S represents the pinnacle of the 164 lineup, squeezing 200 horsepower out of one of the best-sounding V-6s ever built. Alfa was so concerned about reliability that it kept the 164 out of the U.S. market for three years while the car accrued millions of miles of durability testing. We still had problems in our first 3000 miles in the car. But look at those chromed intake runners and that leather-bedecked cabin. Worth it? For a 142-mph sedan with this much charisma, we'd say so.
