See the BMW i4 M50 put through its paces at America's toughest track, Virginia International Raceway.
The BMW i4 M50 is only the third EV Car and Driver has taken to Lightning Lap (the others were a 2015 Tesla Model S and a 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo S).
The i4 wouldn't make full power for a complete lap.
And each 4.1-mile hot lap used up about 20 percent of the i4's state of charge.
Still, the i4's time was 12.7 seconds better than the 2015 Model S had achieved.
The i4's chassis sprang no surprises on us, and despite the bulky 5078-pound curb weight, the car doesn't feel massive.
The BMW i4 M50's as-tested price is $82,820.
