Tipping the scales at 4227 pounds, the Mercedes-AMG SL63 is not an obvious track car.
Even so, we achieved a remarkable lap time in the four-seater at VIR.
The lap time was only 1.6 seconds slower than that of the two-seater AMG GT S from Lightning Lap 9 back in 2015.
Does the official convertible of South Florida need to be this good on track? Not really, but we're glad it was.
The seatback angle, which an electrical gremlin kept us from adjusting, was really the only thing keeping us from an even better lap time.
