Mazda has just revealed its newest SUV, the 2024 CX-90. This is a three-row mid-size model that slots in above the existing CX-9 in terms of size and price. It is meant to compete with more premium SUVs and it has a longitudinally mounted inline-six engine that produces 340 horsepower. The CX-90 is a new model for Mazda, and its name signifies that it's positioned above the CX-9.
The CX-90 uses Mazda's new longitudinal platform that places the engine in a different arrangement than the company's other transverse platforms.
All-wheel drive is standard equipment across the board.
The standard engine is a 340-hp turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six that pairs with a 48-volt hybrid system.
Inside, the top trim level features plush materials that wouldn't look out of place in a luxury car.
There are multiple seating configurations available, including this setup with second-row captain's chairs and a fixed center console.
The third row seats either two or three passengers, with certain versions of the CX-90 able to accomodate eight people.
A 12.3-inch infotainment screen is offered and runs a widescreen format.
This is the PHEV version of the CX-90, which has a 2.5-liter inline-four and an electric motor.
Mazda hasn't released a range estimate for the CX-90 plug-in hybrid, but we know it has a 17.8-kWh battery pack.
