The Nissan Versa is a subcompact sedan that, in base form, happens to be the cheapest new car you can buy. We tested the loaded SR trim, which comes with a surprising amount of equipment for its sub-$21,000 starting price. The Versa was also refreshed for 2023, which makes it more stylish than before both inside and out.
The Versa is the smallest car in Nissan's lineup, slotting below the compact Sentra sedan.
It used to be offered as a hatchback too, but now the Versa is available only as a four-door sedan.

Nissan refreshed the Versa for 2023 and added a new grille design, reshaped headlights and taillights, and new wheel designs.

The only engine on offer is a 1.6-liter inline-four with 122 horsepower.

The SR includes upgraded cloth upholstery with red accents.
