We expected the CR-V to be agreeable—they always are, in an anonymous sort of way—but this new sixth-generation model is far more impressive than we suspected. It's a well-rounded package that punches way above its weight on so many levels. Of the two available powertrains, we suggest the hybrid because it is more powerful, significantly more fuel-efficient, better-equipped, and noticeably more refined when underway.
The Sport and Sport Touring models, which are the hybrids, come with black trim elements, including the alloy wheels, grille, mirror housings, and roof rails.

Sport and Sport Touring models are powered by a 204-hp hybrid system that delivers 40 mpg combined, a significant increase over the 30 mpg of the standard 190-hp engine. Those are front-wheel-drive numbers; AWD ratings are 37 and 29 mpg, respectively.
