The 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron and SQ8 e-tron get subtle but important updates.
Audi's revamped e-tron introduces a new battery and upgraded motors, stretching both efficiency and range. And there's new branding, with "Q8" preceding the e-tron designation to avoid customer confusion over the e-tron's size and status in the Audi hierarchy. In fact, all electric Audis will now adopt their internal-combustion counterpart's nomenclature, followed by "e-tron" to denote an electric powertrain. Happily for us, this e-tron also includes an SQ8 version with three motors.
To extend the old e-tron's range, a 106.0-kWh battery replaces the old 86.5-kWh setup, occupying the same space under the floor.
New grille shutters and other aerodynamic changes help lower the 2024 Audi SQ8 e-tron Sportback's coefficient of drag.
The e-tron's new name—in this case, SQ8 e-tron Sportback—reflects the fact that it's a Q8-class vehicle in size and price but is electric.
