The De Tomaso P900 follows the gorgeous P72, the first car to come from the revival of the Italian automaker know for the Pantera of the 1970s. While the P900 shares some design elements with the P72, it receives a unique powertrain and chassis as well as more intricate bodywork.
The P900 is powered by a 6.2-liter V-12 that produces 900 horsepower.
All of that power is sent to the rear wheels, and the P900 has a claimed dry weight of just 900 kg, or just under 2000 pounds.
While De Tomaso isn't releasing performance figures yet, we do know that the power is routed through a bespoke Xtrac sequential gearbox.
The V-12 is being designed to run on carbon-neutral synthetic fuels in a bid to keep internal combustion engines alive.
The V-12 engine won't finish development until 2024, so impatient buyers can also spec their P900 with a Judd-built V-10.
The P900 features crazy aerodynamics with a massive rear wing enveloping the back of the car and a splitter extending from the front end.
De Tomaso hasn't shown photos of the interior, but it should be just as ornate as the cabin of the P72.
De Tomaso will run a single-make racing series for P900s owners at tracks around the world, providing mechanical support and driver coaching.
Just 18 P900s will be built, with a price tag of $3 million.
