Porsche's latest retro-inspired offering is the 2023 911 Carrera T. Its driver-focused, frills-free vibe is great for driving enthusiasts.
The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T evokes the spirit of the 1968 original despite being a thoroughly modern sports car.
The 911 Carrera T uses the base Carrera's 379-hp twin-turbocharged flat-six but adds performance-enhancing features from elsewhere in the 911 lineup.
A rear-axle-steering system is optional, and Porsche claims the Carrera T is 100 pounds lighter than the standard car.
Thinner window glass and less sound-deadening materials contribute to the car's lighter weight and allow more of the engine's melodic tone to be heard inside the cabin.
The interior is on the drab side, with a mostly all-black design and few frills.
But it can be dressed up with optional contrast-color seat stitching and seatbelts in either Slate Gray or Lizard Green.
The rear seat has been deleted, and a lighter battery is subbed in for the standard one.
The car wears Agate Gray exterior trim, a sport exhaust with gloss-black tailpipes, and special Carrera T graphics on the doors.
A mechanical limited-slip differential comes standard, as does Porsche's PASM active suspension system.
As a purist's sports car, the 911 Carrera T satisfies, with crisp handling, communicative steering, strong brakes, and a well-balanced ride.
