2025 Volvo EX90 is the Swedish automaker's SUV flagship in addition to being its first purpose-built EV.
2025 Volvo EX90 made its debut in downtown Stockholm on November 9. It will be built in the U.S. and China and will go on sale in 2024.
EX90 will have a range of up to 300 miles on a charge, Volvo says.
Knobs and nearly all physical buttons are banished, while the 14.5-inch central touchscreen is easier to use thanks to more features shown on the home screen whether the car is parked or driving.
Volvo calls the design of the EX90 "an instant classic in Scandinavian design."
In-car radar, a first, can detect a child or pet left in the vehicle and can then display a reminder, keep the doors from being locked, and activate climate control to keep a safe temperature inside the vehicle.
The EX90's EV architecture will allow for bi-directional charging capability, meaning that the car's battery could charge your house, during power outages or even to sell electricity back to the grid.
EX90 gets Volvo's Pilot Assist, which offers lane-change functionality in addition to lane-centering capability. The new EV will come with the hardware for eventual "unsupervised driving."
