The 2023 Honda Pilot represents the popular nameplate's fourth generation. Not only does it look a lot more rugged than the one it replaces, but it's also a lot bigger on the outside and roomier on the inside. The '23 Pilot introduces a new version of Honda's venerable 3.5-liter V-6, with better packaging and slightly more horsepower. The previous generation also included a TrailSport trim, but it lacked legitimate off-road hardware like the latest iteration.
The 2023 Pilot has a boxier shape than its predecessor, and it's also 3.4 inches longer overall.
With a wheelbase that's stretched by 2.8 inches, the 2023 Pilot has more legroom in the second and third rows.
The 2023 Pilot TrailSport is truly capable thanks to all-terrain tires, steel skid plates, a lifted suspension, and a specially tuned all-wheel-drive system.
The Pilot TrailSport's Continental TerrainContact All-Terrain tires are mounted on 18-inch wheels that feature a unique wheel flange and inset spoke design to help protect against damage.
Wanna slide around in the sand like the Diffused Sky Blue Pilot TrailSport in this photo? Well, the Pilot with its 285-hp V-6 and standard all-wheel drive has a Sand drive mode for such shenanigans.
The inside of the 2023 Pilot looks much nicer and more mature than its predecessor. Its dashboard has a useful parcel shelf, and the TrailSporter shown here has a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The 2023 Pilot TrailSport features a panoramic sunroof as well as seats with orange contrast stitching and a "TrailSport" logo embroidered on the headrests.
We expect the 2023 Honda Pilot (offered in Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, and Elite trims) to have starting prices ranging between about $41,000 and $55,000 when it hits dealerships in December.
