Ford's new electrified pickup is a powerful if familiar take on an EV for the masses.
Some EVs look like spaceships, while others barely advertise their electrification at all. The new Ford F-150 Lightning falls into the latter category, what with its appearance and road manners closely mimicking those of the conventional F-150 on which it's based. But along with the Lightning's impressive acceleration, those qualities may just be what's needed to draw large numbers of consumers into the EV fold.
