A one-year-only model for 2020, the M2 CS adds 39 horsepower to the M2 Competition, creating a 444-horsepower four-seat coupe. A manual transmission is standard, but we tested the dual-clutch automatic model.
The CS's extra power isn't just on paper. Its 3.6-second time to 60 mph beats the last DCT M2 Competition we tested by 0.4 second.
The 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six is so explosive, notching the best times required setting the launch control to engage the clutch at 1900 rpm.
An 11.8-second quarter-mile at 122 mph also demonstrates the CS's straight-line speed.
