A Ferrari-bred twin-turbo V-8 adds a 580-hp punch to Maserati’s new top-spec Ghibli sedan.

Maserati has installed its Ferrari-bred, twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-8 in its latest Ghibli mid-size sedan, which dons the Trofeo badge for the first time. With 580 horsepower routed to only the rear wheels, it lacks the outright muscle and all-wheel-drive traction of, say, the BMW M5 and Mercedes-AMG E 63 S. But the Ghibli Trofeo is still awfully quick and benefits from a distinctly fiery character.
