Building on Hyundai's redesigned Elantra compact sedan, the new Elantra N Line aims to fill the void left by the Honda Civic Si's temporary hiatus for the 2021 model year. While the N Line is not a full N-badged high-performance model, it still impresses with 201 horsepower, a standard manual transmission, available summer tires, and an attractive base price.
Don't confuse the 201-hp Elantra N Line with the 276-hp Elantra N. The latter will go on sale next fall and should be closer to the Civic Type R in terms of performance.

Two chrome exhaust tips, a small rear spoiler, and a new rear bumper with faux diffuser dress up the N Line's rear end.

Under the N Line's hood is a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four that produces 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.
A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the N Line. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is an $1100 option.
For N Line duty, red accents have been added to the Elantra's clean analog gauge cluster, and its three-spoke steering wheel, seats, and door panels wear plenty of red stitching.
The N Line's sports seats look and feel right with leather bolsters and embossed N logos.
A wireless phone charging pad and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard on the Elantra N Line.
At $25,095 to start, the N Line is an undeniable performance value.
