The latest, eighth-generation of VW's GTI looks to remain at the top of the hot hatchback segment that its ancestors founded decades ago.
The current, seventh-gen VW GTI is excellent. But with a boost to about 245 horsepower, superbly refined handling dynamics, and an almost shockingly futuristic driver interface, the new eighth-gen model is poised to raise the hot-hatchback bar even further when it arrives in the U.S later next year.
