The 2020 Audi A6 Allroad is a new station-wagon model with standard all-wheel drive and body cladding to make it look more SUV-like. We took it to Beaver Island, a remote location in the middle of Lake Michigan, for some exploring.
The A6 Allroad is available in the U.S. for the first time in many years.
Beaver Island is a small island in the middle of Lake Michigan with a year-round population of around 600.
We got to Beaver Island by taking a 32-mile ferry ride that lasts two hours.
The A6 Allroad joins the smaller A4 Allroad and the high-performance RS6 Avant in Audi's station-wagon lineup.
It's powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine with 335 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.
All-wheel drive is standard, as is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Allroad also comes standard with a height-adjustable air suspension.
At the test track, the A6 Allroad went from zero to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds.
It uses Audi's Quattro with Ultra all-wheel drive system with a rear-axle disconnect meant to improve fuel economy.
