Ferrari says the F8 Tributo's new bodywork, which is largely shared with the F8 Spider, is 10 percent more aerodynamically efficient than the 488GTB and generates 15 percent more downforce.
The F8 Tributo is a new model, but its aluminum spaceframe dates back to the 458 Italia, and its twin-turbo 3.9-liter V-8 has been around 2016.
The Tributo is most attractive from the rear. Its larger rear spoiler that wraps around its four round taillights that hark back to some of Ferrari's classic mid-engine V-8 models.
The F8's louvered, clear-plastic engine cover is part of the weight-saving regimen that shaved 88 pounds from the car versus the 488.
Ferrari claims the F8 weighs a tidy 3164 pounds. We expect it to run to 60 mph in a mere 2.7 seconds.
Handed down from the special-edition 488 Pista, the F8's twin-turbo 3.9-liter V-8 cranks out 710 horsepower at 8000 rpm and 568pound-feet of torque at 3250 rpm.

Inside the F8 are new round air vents, simple controls, and large carbon-fiber paddle shifters. The view out the front is expansive, thanks to the low cowl and an upright seating position.
An optional 7.0-inch performance display puts a redundant tachometer and speedometer in front of the F8's passenger.
