Despite its stunning red paint and being made by hand, Acura's TLX PMC Edition is not special enough to justify its high price.

The Acura TLX PMC Edition asks a considerable $50,945, or $3970 more than the top V-6 SH-AWD model with the Advance package.
Acura says it will build only 360 examples of the TLX PMC Edition.
The 2020 Acura MDX PMC Edition receives a similar treatment as the TLX, with both models serving as stepping stones to additional hand-crafted Acura special editions down the road.
The real highlight of the TLX PMC Edition is its stunning Valencia Red Pearl paint, which previously was exclusive to the NSX supercar.
While it's impossible to tell from the inside or out, the TLX PMC Edition is assembled by hand by the same workers that build the NSX supercar at the company Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio.
Despite the TLX's entry luxury status, Honda's own Accord family car equipped with its optional 2.0-liter turbo-four and 10-speed automatic will not only beat the TLX PMC's high-five-second zero-to-60-mph time, but should also out-grip the Acura around the skidpad. The Accord is as nice or nearly as nice inside.
Along with including the TLX's optional Advance package of amenities, the PMC Edition also features the A-Spec model's slightly stiffer springs, larger rear anti-roll bar, and a model-specific calibration for the electrically assisted power steering. In non-PMC versions, you can only get one or the other.
Along with the special red paint, all PMC Edition TLXs feature black-painted 19-inch wheels and exterior trim, red contrast stitching and interior accents, and a numbered plaque on their center consoles.
The PMC Edition is based on the TLX's V-6 SH-AWD model, which means it has the optional 290-hp 3.5-liter V-6, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive.
While pretty to look at, the PMC Edition does nothing to curb our enthusiasm for the redesigned 2021 TLX that should bow later this year, which will feature an optional twin-turbo V-6, a 10-speed automatic, and a higher-performance Type S variant.
