Both Yaris body styles share their front ends and a 101.2-inch wheelbase, but the hatchback's shorter rear overhang has clipped 10.1 inches from its overall length.

The hatchback's 16 cubic feet of cargo space is up three cubes versus the Yaris sedan and has one cubic foot less than the Honda Fit.
Although it's rear seatback is split 60/40 and folds easily to expand the Yaris's cargo space, it doesn't create a flat floor.
The Yaris is pleasant to drive every day. The hatchback's ride can be little busy on rougher roads, but it feels sporty and composed.
The Toyota's 1.5-liter inline-four is smooth enough but provides just 106 horsepower and 103 lb-ft of torque.
