Toyota's veteran full-size SUV soldiers on with an optional TRD Pro upgrade that brings improved off-road capability.
The 2020 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro imbues Toyota's full-size SUV with meaningful off-road fortifications, including forged 18-inch BBS wheels, Fox suspension components, all-terrain tires, and underbody armor. The TRD Pro's front skid plate includes an oil-filter access panel. The staff at Jiffy Lube will appreciate that.
Those 18-inch forged BBS wheels are the same design (though not the same color) as the ones on Toyota's Heritage Edition of the Land Cruiser.
The Sequoia's dash looks a lot like, well, a 2008 Tundra's. But there have been some updates over the years, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, adaptive cruise control, and automatic forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

The TRD Pro's standard four-wheel-drive system uses a Torsen limited-slip center differential. So, 4HI is a street-friendly mode and pushing the diff-lock button locks the front and rear axles together, mimicking a conventional part-time 4WD system.
The Sequoia's 381-hp 5.7-liter V-8 is still a competitive powerplant, although it could benefit from more gear ratios than in the standard six-speed automatic.
The TRD Pro is available in an exclusive color, Army Green, and that's the only color it should be.
The TRD Pro's internal-bypass Fox coil-over dampers up front have softer spring rates than on the standard Sequoia. The ride is plush.
With a base price of $65,430, the Sequoia TRD Pro is a lot of Toyota for the money.
Aluminum TRD running boards provide some protection for the Sequoia's rocker panels.
