Aston Martin's new DBX carries the brand on its broad shoulders.

The DBX makes 542 horsepower, and the company claims it'll hit 62 mph in 4.5 seconds, making it slower than the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga W-12.
Aston insiders say that during development, the DBX regularly lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in under 8 minutes. But can it beat the 'Ring's current SUV record—the 7:42 lap set by the Audi RS Q8?
The DBX uses Mercedes's nine-speed automatic gearbox, but one with a conventional torque converter instead of the wet-clutch design that AMG uses.
Air springs are standard on the DBX and allow the driver to vary its ride height, raising the ute by up to 1.8 inches for low-speed off-road use or lowering by up to 2.0 inches.
An active-anti-roll-bar system is also standard. It employs 48-volt electric motors connected to the sway bars to counteract body roll.
Our first drive was of a prototype version in the deserts of Oman. We expect the fit and finish of the final car to be considerably better.
All versions of the DBX will have a panoramic glass roof. Aston made it so that the driving position that will accommodate everyone from a 95th percentile male to a 5th percentile female.
Surprisingly, the large display in the middle of the dashboard isn’t a touchscreen; it is based on an older version of Mercedes’s infotainment system and uses a touchpad and scroll wheel.
The DBX is available to order now, with the first customer deliveries scheduled for May 2020. U.S. pricing begins at $192,986.
