The all-wheel-drive Taycan 4S sports two electric motors and, depending on the battery pack, can deploy either 522 or 573 horsepower.
As with other Taycans, the 4S features a two-speed gearbox, which is unique in the EV segment.
Pricing for the Taycan 4S starts at $105,150. Opting for the larger Performance Battery Plus will set you back another $6580.
We estimate that the Taycan 4S should run from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.
The 4S model exhibits the same unflappable, point-and-shoot handling as the more powerful Taycan Turbo and Turbo S models.
The Taycan 4S's brake pedal is effective, but the shortness of its initial bite takes some getting used to.
Porsche has yet to release range estimates for the Taycan 4S, but we expect it will be able to travel between 225 and 275 miles per charge, or significantly less than a Tesla Model S.
The Taycan 4S comes standard with 19-inch wheels, but Porsche will happily sell you larger rollers to give the 4S the look of the Turbo models.
