The Kia Stinger GT is a unique proposition—a rear-drive 365-hp performance hatchback sedan with a base price of $40,790. A rear-drive Stinger GTS is functionally identical to the GT, but the all-wheel-drive GTS gets unique hardware and software that makes it a bit more exciting to drive. Read the full story here.
The Stinger GTS shares its 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 with the GT trim. It's a feisty six, making 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque.
Like the GT, the GTS is available in rear- or all-wheel-drive configurations. But the GTS' D-AWD system is a notable upgrade.
The AWD GTS gets the rear-drive model's mechanical limited-slip rear differential, the only all-wheel-drive Stinger so equipped
The GTS's D-AWD system shares the standard system's rear torque bias—60 percent of the torque goes to the rear axle in Comfort mode, 80 percent in Sport mode—but adds Drift mode, which disconnects the front axle entirely.
You can get the Stinger in any color you like as long as it's Federation orange with a black interior.
Kia will only make 800 Stinger GTSs for 2019. However, we bet they'll keep it around for the 2020 model year.
Besides the color, other GTS tells are carbon-fiber side mirror caps, side vents, and grille trim.
On the GTS, the Stinger's Kia logo on its trunk is replaced with "Stinger" script.
Inside, the steering wheel and center console are covered in Alcantara, while the headliner is upholstered in Chamude, another type of synthetic suede, giving the Stinger GTS 100 percent more kinds of trademarked faux suede than most cars we can think of.
Pricing for a Stinger GTS starts at $44,995, with the D-AWD option tacking on another $2400.
