It's neither the best driving small luxury SUV nor the most practical one, but it looks damn good.

Although it competes with other luxury subcompact crossovers, the Evoque's tall body, high driving position, and vault-like interior make it feel like a much larger SUV.
It may not look much different than the outgoing Evoque, but Land Rover is wise not to mess with success. Still, there are plenty of ways to customize the Evoque to your liking and it looks great in almost any guise.
Our test vehicle came with optional 21-inch aluminum wheels, as well as Seoul Pearl Silver paint with gloss black and copper exterior accents.
The big wheels make for harsh impacts over most bumps in the road; opt for the standard 18s or the also optional 20s for a comfier ride on bad roads.
All Evoque models feature a standard nine-speed automatic transmission.
Inside, our test car came with optional eucalyptus textile seat upholstery in place of leather.
A digital gauge display and Land Rover's InControl Touch Duo infotainment system round out a tech-heavy cabin that will appeal to futurists.
Adults relegated to the rear seats will find less passenger space than in less style-conscious small SUVs.
The Evoque's style-forward design doesn't leave a lot of room for hauling bulky items in its cargo area.
Fuel economy for the Evoque P300 is decent. We managed 27 mpg on our 75-mph highway test loop, beating its EPA highway estimate by 1 mpg.
