Cadillac's new three-row crossover shares parts with Chevrolet, GMC, and Buick models—not that you'd ever realize it.

The Cadillac XT6 is based on General Motors' C1XX platform, also known as the Chi architecture. It is shared with the Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave, and GMC Acadia, among other vehicles.
The Sport trims adds real substance to the XT6 with a quicker steering rack, adaptive dampers, a heavy-duty cooling package, and an electronically controlled rear axle that can vary the torque distribution between the right and left wheels.
The XT6's exterior design features cues lifted from the handsome Cadillac Escala concept.
When equipped with the Platinum package, the XT6 exudes luxury with rich leather seats, a suede-like headliner, and a leather-wrapped dash.
There's just one powertrain available in the XT6, a 310-hp 3.6-liter V-6 paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional.
The Cue infotainment system is standard in the Cadillac XT6. It's now easier to use thanks to the addition of a rotary control knob just ahead of the shifter.
Cadillac calls its suspension-tuning strategy "isolated precision." It's not just marketing bluster. The ride and handling are nicely balanced to provide comfort and control.
The second-row comes standard with a three-person bench, while a pair of individual bucket seats is a stand-alone option.
The XT6's third row offers more third-row legroom than the Cadillac Escalade but less than the longer-wheelbase Escalade ESV.
With 13 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, the cargo hold is only large enough for two carry-on-sized bags, unless you fold down some seats.
