Starting at $188,495, the Project 8 is a highly exclusive piece of hardware. No more than 300 will be built.
The Project 8 employs Jaguar's supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 that has been tuned to produce 592 horses and 516 lb-ft of torque.
All Project 8s feature an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
The SV Project 8 currently holds the sedan lap recond around the 12.9-mile Nürburgring Nordschleife with a time of seven minutes and 21 seconds. This prototype had the optional Track package, which forgoes the rear seats in favor of a harness-retention loop.
Versions destined for the United States will not be available with the Project 8's optional Track package that includes carbon-fiber front racing seats with four-point harnesses and a harness-retention hoop in place of the rear seats.
The 4085-pound SV Project 8 made the run to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
Fitted with specially developed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires as standard, the raciest Jaguar XE orbited the skidpad with a stout 1.05 g's of lateral grip.
The Project 8 is a creation of Jaguar's Special Vehicle Operations.
The Project 8's radical aerodynamic pieces look wild, but the ankle-chopping splitter easily scrapes the ground.
Thankfully, the Project 8's gaudy SVO and leaping-cat graphics are optional.
