The 2019 GT350's Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are the first to have the Ford Performance label "FP" embossed on the sidewall. This denotes the compound is formulated specifically for Ford.
The Shelby's updated grille is from the GT350R. The smaller opening restricts air flow under the hood and reduces front-axle lift by 13 pounds.
The GT350's new rear spoiler design reduces drag and downforce.
To add more rear downforce, the $895 Handling package fits a Gurney flap to the rear spoiler to generate 238 of downforce at 120 mph—50 pounds more than the previous generation's spoiler.
If you look closely, the GT350's wheels have been redesigned for 2019.
Ford has ditched the Shelby's previous cross-drilled brake rotors in favor of solid-face discs. The new rotors do a better job dissipating heat and, according to Ford, costs less to replace.
Optional adjustable top hats on the Shelby GT350's front struts allow more negative wheel camber to added to the alignment.
The Shelby's naturally aspirated, flat-plane-crank 5.2-liter V-8 remains unchanged. It produces 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque.
A Tremec six-speed manual is the only transmission offered for the GT350.
An optional 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system is part of the $2000 Technology Package.
