See Why the Roomy and Handsome 2019 Ford Edge Remains a Popular Mid-Size Crossover
Although far from fresh, the Ford Edge remains one of the best mainstream two-row, mid-size SUVs out there.

What makes Ford's mid-size crossover so popular? Its spaciousness offers a hint: Two burly, bearded Michiganders and a long-torsoed Californian fit comfortably in the back seat of the 2019 Ford Edge. And it isn't an awkward hip-to-hip, shoulder-to-shoulder situation, which is the norm in this mid-size class of crossover. With 54 cubic feet of passenger space in its second row, Ford's Edge has enough room for three adult males to stretch out on the way to the steakhouse, and, more impressively, even on the way home after T-bones and rib-eyes.
It's a surprising revelation. Ford introduced the second generation of the Edge for 2015, and its exterior dimensions are dwarfed by those of a growing list of competitors, which now includes a new Honda Passport and Chevy Blazer. Yet the Ford's smart interior packaging has kept it relevant, even as the mid-size five-seat crossover class heats up.
