
This is the way the world is. Not how it should be or could be—but is. In the past few months, the teensy-crossover market has seen Ford bring the dinky EcoSport to North America, Hyundai introduce the new Kona, Kia continue to issue a flood of the diminutive Soul, and Honda’s HR-V become a mainstay of that brand. Small, not very powerful, tech-thick, SUV-like things are what the world wants. Rip and grip don’t sell like cute-utes with good smartphone integration.
