From the Archive: Yes, the Chevrolet Corvette and new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 aren't exactly similar vehicles. One has two seats versus the other's four, and their curb weights amount to a 616-pound spread. But with no new Chevy Camaro to line up against, the Vette is now the blown Mustang's closest cross-town rival, and we just had to see how they faired against one another.
