- Toyota said three new EVs will launch for the European market by 2026, showing off silhouettes of the cars in a teaser image.
- One of the SUVs looks like the 2023 Land Cruiser Se concept, while the other SUV looks like the bZ Large SUV concept from 2021.
- An electric pickup truck has also been confirmed, although it's unclear if this will be based on the existing Hilux or will be a new model entirely.
Earlier this week, Toyota's European arm unveiled several new electric vehicles. The bZ4X compact SUV received a facelift and more power, the Lexus RZ luxury SUV gained an F Sport variant and steer-by-wire technology, and the tiny FT-Me concept signaled Toyota's intention to expand electric mobility to a wider audience. At the same event, Toyota declared plans to launch three more new EVs in Europe by 2026, including one pickup truck and an SUV that may be an electric Land Cruiser.
Toyota didn't provide any details about the three EVs coming in the next two years, but a teaser image with silhouettes gives us a sense of what to expect. We'll start on the right, with an SUV that features a boxy profile and a distinctive dip in the roofline at the rear. This silhouette appears to be incredibly similar to the Land Cruiser Se concept that was revealed in 2023. Toyota released minimal information about the Land Cruiser Se at the time, other than that it featured three rows of seats, had an electric powertrain, and was nearly 10 inches longer than the hybrid Land Cruiser.

In the middle is clearly a pickup truck, and Toyota has hinted at its desire to launch an EV truck multiple times. In 2023, Toyota showed the EPU concept, but that compact truck's stubby shape doesn't match this teaser. Instead, it is likely an electric version of the Hilux, Toyota's global mid-size truck offering. The United States has its own mid-sizer (the Tacoma) and showed an electric truck concept back in 2021 that ultimately previewed the styling of the current Tacoma. We wouldn't be surprised if the underpinnings of an electric Hilux ended up being shared with an electric Tacoma to minimize costs.
The final SUV (on the left) is a bit of a mystery. The sleeker front end and lower, wagon-like roofline is reminiscent of the current Crown Signia. This could be a production version of the bZ Large SUV concept shown in 2021, which we originally thought might be called the bZ5X, although Toyota is moving away from the "bZ" naming scheme.
Lexus will also gain two more electric models in Europe following the updated RZ. There were no hints at what these might be, but several Lexus EV concepts were also shown in 2021 that could indicate what's coming. One was an electric sedan that had design cues that echoed the compact IS sedan, and there was also a three-row SUV. The production models will likely take on some of the cues seen on the 2023 LF-ZC concept and LF-ZL concept.
It isn't clear which, if any, of these models will come to the United States, but we wouldn't be surprised to see a production version of the Land Cruiser Se and an electric truck make an appearance stateside. More information should arrive within the next year.
