• Every vehicle that transports kids needs a child safety seat, but they can be pricey.
  • For this Black Friday there are some great deals on Graco's already popularly priced models at Walmart.
  • Among the models available are infant, convertible, and boosters for kids from newborns to 100 pounds.

While you're shopping around—probably online this year—for good deals, look beyond the flat-screen TVs and electronic devices and check out an impressive sale on child car seats. Every family with kids has these, and as you know, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommends using newer models that are the right size for your child.

Here are several from the already reasonably priced Graco lineup that you can get at Walmart. Check NHTSA for its ease-of-use ratings before you buy.

The Graco SnugRide SnugLock 35 Elite infant car seat puts babies and young toddlers up to 35 pounds where they belong in the car: facing backward for safety. This seat comes on an adjustable base with a choice of four reclining positions. The "SnugLock" part of the name refers to the claimed "one-second connection" to secure it into the car, with a reassuring loud click when it's correctly installed.

Graco's Extend2Fit convertible car seat is billed as allowing the child to ride in the more secure rear-facing position for longer because it gets longer, stretching out the leg rests by five inches to accommodate kids up to 50 pounds before it has to turn forward. However, it can work forward facing for 22 to 65 pounds.

The TrioGrow SnugLock three-in-one car seat is billed as being usable for kids from five pounds to 100 pounds. Keep the Cheerios picked up and the seat tidy, and it just might last you that long. It has a rear-facing harness position up to 40 pounds, can be forward facing from 22 pounds to 65 pounds, and works as a highback booster for kids from 40 up to 100 pounds.

The TurboBooster high-back booster seat is intended to keep kids safe who weigh from 40 to 100 pounds. This is an age when a lot of kids hope they are allowed to stop using a car seat at all, but this one could change their minds. It's got its own cupholders and six height-adjustable head positions to grow with your older child.
