Earlier this month, Ford Racing released a tire-smoking, V-8–screaming video celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Mustang, featuring eight modded Stangs and the drifting skills of Vaughn Gittin Jr., Chris Forsberg, and Ryan Tuerck. It was a gasoline-fueled, tire-burning orgy of horsepower. Here’s a look behind the scenes at how they made it.

Recognize those drivers? They’re all stars of the drift circuit, and Gittin is no stranger to tail-happy Mustangs. Among the three of them, the eight amazing Mustangs they rounded up, and the fearless camera crew whose job it was to stand in the crosshairs of potential vehicular disaster, they created a masterpiece.
