2015 Dodge Durango R/T

Radar Red. No, M*A*S*H’s Gary Burghoff never went over to the North Koreans. No, the Dutch dudes in Golden Earring did not overrev their automobile while the radio was playin’ that forgotten song. It’s nothing more than an interior color that’s now available on the Dodge Durango R/T for 2015.

2015 Dodge Durango R/T

Originally applied to a concept Durango at the SEMA Show in 2013, the FCA unit says that customers have been clamoring for the shade to be added to the ute’s Premium Nappa Leather Group option. For just $1195, if Lone Starr jams your radar, the resultant mess will be barely visible.

Other R/T stuff includes a sportier suspension with a 0.8-inch-lower right height, black headlamp bezels, HID low beams and LED DRLS, R/T embroidery on the seats whether you go with Radar Red or not, a nine-speaker sound system with a subwoofer, and of course, the 360-horsepower 5.7-liter Hemi paired with ZF’s ubiquitous eight-speed transmission.

There is, however, a bit more. The R/T’s standard wheel is new as well. It’s a 20-inch unit in what Dodge calls a Granite Crystal finish, otherwise known as darn close to black.

To recap, what’s new for 2015? Red and black. They’re the colors of anarcho-syndicalism, Juggalos, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Now that’s a party we’d like to attend! Rudolph Rocker, meet Violent J. Shaggy 2 Dope, say hello to Dudley Do-Right. All y’all no doubt find the FBI annoying, so what say we quaff some syrup-laced Faygo, crank some Montrose and do burnouts?
