Based on the 2000 Neon SRT (Street/Road/Track) concept car shown two years ago in L.A., the 2003 SRT-4 will hit streets sometime in the summer of '03. Power comes from a turbocharged 2.4-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine that pumps out 205 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a heavy-duty NVG T850 five-speed manual transmission, the turbo four is capable of propelling the SRT from 0-to-60 mph in 5.9 seconds—according to Dodge—making it the second-fastest Dodge to the Viper SRT-10. Rounding out the package are 17-inch wheels, specially tuned strut and spring assemblies, 11-inch disc brakes, a redesigned front fascia with hood scoop, and a large rear spoiler. Dodge promises all this for under $20,000.
