Following the launch of the freshened 911 lineup, Boxster production halted this past summer in anticipation of a reworked car that will feature updated bodywork and direct-injection versions of its current engines when it goes on sale at the end of this year. A rumored turbocharged four-cylinder Volkswagen/Audi engine (most likely a version of the 2.0-liter, direct-injection turbo four-cylinder) is also reportedly a possibility for a more basic version of the Boxster.
