BMW's flagship sedan, which made its world debut at the Frankfurt motor show, made its North American debut in Los Angeles in both regular and long (Li) wheelbase versions. Once again, the 7-series is a technological tour de force, featuring the world's first series-production six-speed automatic transmission, hydraulically controlled active anti-roll bars, front knee airbags, and iDrive, a center-console-mounted rotary push knob that controls 1000 functions. The sole engine choice is a 4.4-liter V-8 that produces 325 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. BMW claims a 0-to-60-mph time of 5.9 seconds. The new 7-series goes on sale at the end of January.
