Behold the largest Corvair of them all! Built in Kansas by the Ultra Van Corporation, this motor home features all-aluminum monocoque construction sheathed in aluminum with fiberglass nose and tail sections. The rear-engined air-cooled six-cylinder powertrain is from the Corvair and the suspension is fully independent. Of the 375 Ultra Vans built, 200 are still on the road. Production ended in June 1970. The Orphan Car Show recently admitted Corvairs as a discontinued sub-marque, in part because the entire concept of a funky air-cooled rear-engine design was orphaned by GM.
