One of the most significant Fords on the field was this car, the only surviving GT40 roadster prototype. Several variations on the GT40 design were built and tested, including the Roadster. Although its bodywork didn't pan out, this car served as the development mule for a ZF transaxle concept that proved successful and was applied to all future production GT40s. Powered by a 289 V-8, the car is said to be capable of 200 mph.
