Proud, indomitable, utterly stable and intimidating, Benz’s big coupes should come with a Swiss bank account and diplomatic immunity. Both the V-8 in the CL550 and V-12 CL600 are pumped up by two turbos to make 429- and 510-continent-crushing horsepower, respectively. The CL550 comes with a seven-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Meanwhile, the CL600’s torque-rich V-12 gets a five-speed and rear-wheel drive.
