We already knew that Audi's stunning Concept C will look a lot like the forthcoming production model, but we're surprised to learn that the concept car is already out driving on public roads. The news comes as Audi today revealed new photos of the Concept C—a two-seat electric sports car—roaming around Europe with all the necessary equipment to be street-legal.
From the photos we can see that the Concept C has license plates on the front and back as well as windshield wipers. The concept also has turn signals and a horn, according to Autocar, who had an opportunity to drive the concept in the Italian Dolomites. It's clear from their experience as well as the YouTube video below that the one-of-one car isn't just a rolling showpiece.

From zero-to-62-mph launches to 90-degree turns, the rear-drive concept gave some auto journalists a little taste of what's to come. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner reportedly told Autocar that while it was really complicated to make the one-off concept car street-legal, albeit with a prototype designation, it was worth it to further help with development of the production car. Döllner also told the outlet that the concept has a top speed of about 90 mph and that a dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant will eventually pair with the rear-drive configuration.
Along with a 101.1-inch wheelbase, the Concept C measures 178 inches long and 77.6 inches wide. For comparison, a Porsche 911 is roughly the same length but has a notably smaller waistline. It's expected that Audi's electric sports car will share a platform with the upcoming Porsche 718 EVs. Its battery sits between the passengers and the rear drive unit, which helps provide a lower ride height versus EVs that use a skateboard-like platform. Audi claims the concept weighs 3726 pounds.
Despite some people getting to spend time behind the wheel, there's still a lot we don't know about the production version of the Concept C. For one thing, Audi hasn't yet decided what to call it, though the automaker tocay shared images of it alongside the original Audi TT and Audi R8 supercar. Of course, its name and more detailed technical information will be announced sometime before the real car goes on sale in 2027.
